Geosynthetics are already widely used in the fields of geotechnical and civil engineering. They have many features to use for the separation of two soils or fill materials of different natures, filtration, drainage, mechanical protection of materials, soil reinforcement and other construction materials, the fight against erosion surfaces. The grafting of molecules on the surface fibers of the geotextile would bring her other duties, such as picking up heavy metals through ion exchange function.
The purpose of the project is the design of DEPOLTEX geotextiles functionalized combining properties to clean up sediment and sludge polluted with heavy metals. The idea is to bind to tissues, specific properties, to better control the immediate risk (Phase dredging and storage) but also to control the future risk of diffusion and dispersion of pollutants over time.
This project is complementary to the project SEDIMED and Rade of Toulon is involved in the club to end users.
