Submarine exploration systems
The Sea-Explorer project, was approved in May 2006, is aimed at developing "gliders", small unmanned engines propelled by gravity and cyclic ballasting.
These engines are dedicated to the knowledge of the underwater environment, ensuring in situ the measurement of physical (current, temperature) and biogeochemical (salinity, concentrations of some components, etc.…) parameters. One of the possible uses of these "gliders" would be to monitor the impact on micro-organisms of urban wastewater discharge (Marseille metropolitan district) in the marine environment. These engines could also be used for maritime monitoring missions.
