Amelioration environmental impact and reducing consumption of heavy fuel engines, by infrared analysis
Project leader:
C.M.R. (Measurement Control Regulation)
Industrial Partners:
CMN (Compagnie de Navigation South) - SP3H
Research partners:
ECM - Univ Paul Cézanne
Budget:
3 700 k € over 3 years. Project co-funded by the state and local governments through the Call for Projects Fund Unique Inter in 2009. Design, develop and make available prototypes of a new sensor capable of analyzing the quality of fuel still in the engine inlet, and instantly change the settings of the engine (electronic injection). The goal is to continuously optimize engine performance based on the actual quality of the fuel: heavy fuel oil, natural gas, gas recovery, for a gain of 5% and more consumption, according to fuel quality, while respecting limit emissions.
