Test Center of Expertise Deep Sea
The infrastructure of CEEMP consist of 3 parts:
1. The submarine platforms, located respectively at 1300 m of water north of the island of Levant (PF1) and 2400 m of water south-east (PF2). Each platform is equipped with 6 connectors plug under water, which will conduct tests in parallel. The first platform may issue up to 1 MW of electric power, and second, 250 kW. Instrumentation will be deployed (cameras, lighting, sensors ...) on the platforms to monitor the trials and real-time data will lift the checkpoint.
2. The umbilical submarines allow power stations underwater electric power and provide bidirectional data exchange between stations and the checkpoint on the ground.
3. The checkpoint, located on the island of Levant, includes user interfaces and control system of underwater platforms.

Investment: 12.3 million €, pre-selected 1st call for proposals platforms innovation launched by the DGCIS in December 2008.The development of scientific observatories submarines and offshore fields in deep and ultra deep and the development of marine renewable energy, require the design, implementation and testing of underwater equipment and many innovative and complex systems, where French industrialists are heavily involved, particularly in the PACA region.
The test center and know deep (CEEMP) will allow all developers of systems, equipment and subsea equipment for the PACA region but also national and international, to conduct tests and demonstrations in scale, at marginal cost (no support ship) and unconstrained forecast.
