The project Gambits, certified in July 2009, aims to train human agents in the management of complex situations through a "serious game" allowing adaptive realistic simulations. The entities of the simulation will be equipped with autonomous behaviors allowing them to evolve into a rich and dynamic scenario, while adapting to the decisions of human actors, looking for flaws in their strategies. An integrated learning system will improve the responses of the simulation system based on how players will behave and the impact of its actions on the simulated environment. This aspect also allows the evaluation of the speaker on human capacity to evolve in response to a changing environment.
To demonstrate the relevance of the technologies underlying the field chosen is the maritime defense. The human actors will be able to confront acts of malice or terrorism (as of piracy at sea, for example) or major accidents (such as oil spills or the wreck of a ferry).
